  4. Avoid deodorant soaps totally, and use mild soap as little as possible.
  5. Detergents that have strong perfume should be avoided and all clothes should be washed and rinsed well.
  6. Vigorous rubbing irritates skin, so pat it dry.
  7. During cold winter months, sponge bath maximum times. For tub baths you can add cornstarch, finely ground oatmeal or oil to the water to soothe skin.

Dry Skin Prevention

  1. Use Liquid soaps that are milder than soap bars.
  2. After bathing use a moisturizer.
  3. Maintain safe distance from fire or woodstove because your skin may dry up extremely.
  4. Avoid air conditioning whenever it is possible.
  5. Use a humidifier or keep the indoor temperature at 68 degree Fahrenheit in winter.
  6. Overexposure to direct sun can cause dryness, use facial moisturizer containing sun-blocking agents.
