When some people travel in airplane, bus, boat, train or amusement park they lose their equilibrium. Usually children between 2-12 years are the most affected. Adults have mature Nervous System and can handle the effects of movement better.

What are the symptoms of Motion Sickness?

  1. Include Nausea, vomiting, paleness, dizziness and perspiration.

What causes Motion Sickness?

Certain movements stimulate the fluids in the inner ear, and at the same time the eyes are focused on rapidly moving scenery. The brain receives the imbalanced messages and in turn forwards it to the stomach, resulting in nausea and vomiting.

Natural remedies for Motion Sickness

  1. If you vomit, sip clear fluids till your stomach settles down.
  2. If you feel nausea, lie down in a dark room and cover your forehead and eye with a cool cloth.

Prevent of Motion Sickness

  1. Take medication 30-60 minutes before you leave.
  2. Whenever you are in a boat or car focus on some horizon or some fixed point in the distance. In a plane sit by the window and look outside.
  3. Nausea can be induced by perfume, tobacco or from food.
  4. Avoid reading if your inner ear is jiggling.
  5. Avoid eating heavy meals and drinking alcohol before traveling.
  6. In a plane, choose a window seat over the wings, in a car choose a seat that gives you a clear view of the road ahead.
  7. In amusement park avoid spin rides.
